Belladonna - Book Review

Belladonna, written by Adalyn Grace is the first in the Belladonna trilogy. A gothic romance set in old-age society, where Signa is forced to confront her greatest enemy, Death.

I was so excited about this book and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The main reason, being that Death is actually a person. It was an interesting concept and done in an original way. He is never truly man, but shifts between forms and is not the monster that we picture.

The plot line is great in this book as there is romance as well as mystery which always makes for a more exciting read. There are teases of Fate which make it clear the avenue for the trilogy. But the setting itself is memorable, whereas the characters, not so much. Of course, Signa and Death are memorable, but the others drift away which I assume would be that their personalities are not written in a memorable way. They are lacking some depth.

Either way, it’s a book I enjoyed and you can read my full Goodreads review below.
